Hex & Hollow 0.1.124 is live. This update expands Blackmoor’s town layout and makes carrying, storing, and moving supplies a more deliberate part of play.

Blackmoor is taking shape

The residential area now has 20 greybox homes and fenced lots, including 15 new homes between the original five. Porches, room layouts, paths, parking pads, and pedestrian and vehicle openings give the neighborhood a clearer layout.

Town Hall, the General Store, Blackforge Smithy, Blackmoor Clinic, and Guild Hall also have new greybox interiors. Entrances provide 2.6 metres of clear height, with ramps and routes checked against character size. These are working layouts for testing scale, navigation, and room use; the buildings are still in their greybox art stage.

Every item in a stack has weight

Items now have individual weights and stack limits suited to their type. Adding another item to a stack adds its weight, so a full stack of building materials is a different carrying choice from a handful of small supplies. Tooltips show the unit weight, total stack weight, and stack limit.

Base carrying capacity is 30 kg. Equipped bags expand available storage slots and carrying capacity; the current 24-slot bags add 12 kg of capacity. The empty bag and everything inside it still count toward the load.

If your character goes over their weight limit, walking, sprinting, and jumping stop. Inventory and nearby storage remain usable so you can unload and get moving again. Existing oversized stacks remain accessible without losing items as the new limits take effect.

Crates and barrels become useful storage

Crates hold up to 60 kg and barrels up to 120 kg. The storage menu lets you choose items and quantities to deposit or withdraw, including items carried in equipped bags. Item icons, stack counts, and the current stored weight make contents easier to read.

These are the current balance values. We want feedback on how they feel when gathering, carrying construction supplies, and organizing storage.

Exhaustion needs time to recover

When sprinting or an action drains stamina to zero, the character switches to a slower walk at half normal walking speed. Sprinting becomes available again once stamina reaches 40. Holding the sprint key no longer causes repeated starts and stops as stamina rises just above zero.

Release checks and fixes

We repaired broken animal-model references that affected estate content loading while preserving the authored transforms and collider settings. This release passed 253 automated Unity regression tests and 50 database integration checks. Both client and server builds passed, the server loaded both worlds twice successfully, and a real launcher login reached character selection.
